$-cost-averaging with a volatile stock in a strong uptrend is a powerful way to make money. I tried it with QQQ3 using a three-monthly candlestick chart. I imagined investing $5,000 every quarter; that is quite a lot, but this is such a surefire winner, or so I thought, that a serious commitment is worth making. I was determined to invest enough to become a QQQ3 millionaire at the end of the process.

It worked. At the end of every quarter, I invested $5,000 in QQQ3 at the prevailing price. I imagined doing this for each of the 44 quarters since the ETF was launched in January 2014. I would have invested $220,000 (£169,000).
I would now hold 9,023 shares worth $2.093m at the latest price of $231. In roughly 10 years I would have increased my investment close to 10-fold. I would not be surprised if doing this for the next 10 years would produce an even better return.

Strategy – Invest a Comfortable Amount In QQQ3 Every Quarter
Most of us think investment should be more complicated than this but this simple, obvious strategy is hard to beat. The only negative is that in a severe bear market, you will experience dramatic paper losses. This is when you need to have faith and, like Warren Buffett, believe in the energy and resourcefulness of the American people. Purchases made in the throes of a bear market will eventually become some of your most profitable investments.
